Huskie Motorsports News - Link
Refer to my first entry for Huskie Motorsports for background and context on my relationship with Huskie Motorsports.
Seeing my success with the original website, the team wanted me to build a platform for them to create and host the various newsletters they'd send out. This would be seen as a centralized way for people to view older newsletters, in the event they wanted to learn more about the team.
The news page uses Decap/Hugo as its CMS. Incredibly basic, but with just enough functionality to be useful. My real goal was to explain to relevant members of the team how the website would work from their end, and how they could add to the website. As it stands, I only have a few more weeks at NIU, and passing on the website is a big mission for me.
This site also marked my first time using AI to guide me through creating something on the internet. It ultimately failed, as CMS troubleshooting is a headache even for those that understand it. Reading the docs on my own proved to be infinitely more useful.
Other Notes
There are many small things that go into web development beyond code. With the advent of LLMs in programming spaces, I see web development becoming a design-oriented field much more than a "coding" practice. Web development will probably pivot to a marketing sector rather than stay a software role. I still think it's a lot of fun regardless of pessimistic backend developers and their opinions.
